Barefoot shoes are designed to match the natural shape and movement of your foot. They have a wide toe box so your toes can spread, a flat sole with no heel lift, and a thin, flexible base so you can feel the ground. Regular shoes do the opposite.

Almost certainly, but likely not in your usual size in conventional shoes. You will also find that some brands are more suited to your feet than others, depending on your foot shape, width and foot volume. We love to advise on this so please get in touch for recommendations for your unique feet!

Barefoot shoes are sized by the actual length and width of your foot, not by a standard shoe size. Measure your feet at home in two minutes, then email us and we will help you remotely.

Send them back. We do easy returns and exchanges on anything that is not right, as long as it is unworn outside and in original condition and packaging. Here is a link to our return policy.

Yes, and this matters. If you have worn cushioned, restrictive shoes your whole life, your feet need time to adapt. Start with an hour or two a day and build up over a few weeks. Our free transition guide walks you through it.

We do not have a physical store, but we do pop-ups around New Zealand and we can see people by appointment in New Plymouth and Hamilton. We also have excellent knowledge of the fit of all the shoes we stock and have a really high success rate sizing people remotely by email, once we have your measurements and other relevant information about your feet. Get in touch for remote sizing assistance or to book an appointment to try on.

Pre-order means that we don't physically have the item in stock in New Zealand, but we can order it quickly for you from the relevant supplier. Pre-orders take 2-4 weeks for delivery, depending on where they're coming from.

Pre-orders are ordered like normal through our website the difference is that the add to cart button will say pre-order instead. Pre-orders are also eligible for returns and exchanges, same as in stock orders, as per our return policy.

It takes time to form new brand partnerships and we are not able to order one off items in from other brands.

If you are after a particular style from one of the brands we stock but we don't have it on our website, we may be able to order it in for you, but it is treated as a custom order and it is not eligible for return or exchange (unless it is defective or damaged).
