Meet the Genesis — the closest thing to barefoot you can wear on your feet.

Sometimes you want almost nothing between you and the ground. The Genesis is a minimalist, huarache-style sandal with a thin 5mm sole and a lace that wraps around your foot instead of a stiff strap. At just 130g each (men's 9), it's light enough to forget you're wearing it, and packs flat into any bag.

Unlike a jandal, there's no need to grip with your toes. The soft toe loop sits between your toes, and the lacing holds the sandal to your whole foot so it moves with you. It comes pre-laced with a simple tension adjuster, so you set the fit once and then slide in and out in seconds. Wear it for walking, travel, yoga, the gym, or even running.

The Genesis is a unisex style: a men's 7 is the same sandal as a women's 8. The thin, flexible sole is best worn with a snug fit, so select the size that has a sole length closest to your actual foot length, with no more than 0.7cm extra. If you're between sizes, size up as the sole can be trimmed with scissors to match the shape of your foot, if needed.
